Now semi-retired, I remain involved with research in medical physics and imaging. My main project is a new treatment for prostate cancer using ultrasound heating under MRI temperature control. I have been developing this technology for over fifteen years and it has now entered clinical studies. A Toronto-based startup company is attempting to guide it through regulatory approval and Philips Healthcare is also preparing it for full clinical trials.
